Alden United Methodist Church gives out $1000 College Scholarships to worthy students from the Alden area. Students who have been involved in Alden United Methodist Church in some way are given preference, but all students are encouraged to apply.

The Alden Community United Methodist Church Student Aid Committee is dedicated to helping individuals from the Alden and Rapid City communities who have a desire to further their education. Our hope is that, because of the assistance you may receive from us, you will in turn help others.  We are a church organization; therefore, a good portion of the money received for our funding comes from church members who share this belief. We are looking for worthy students who also share this ideal.

Grants in the amount of $1,000 per year will be given to provide funds to help pay for books, tuition or other school related expenses.  The grant will be paid in two payments.  The first semester payment will be made in the fall, and the second semester payment will be made after successful completion of the first semester.  Providing the committee with evidence of a minimum first semester 2.0 GPA will constitute successful completion. You may reapply annually.

Summer school grants are also available if our budget allows.  Please inquire if you are interested.
