Community Needs Fund

The Community Needs Fund is a designated fund available to the senior pastor to distribute for emergency financial aid for things like utility shut off or emergency fuel. The goal is avoid homelessness and help families in crisis. All funds are paid directly to the utility company or vendor by the Pastor. No cash is given, for any reason. People requesting emergency financial aid must fill out a form that includes personal information and listing other places that the person in need has already applied for help like DHS. People using the fund are encouraged to pay back the Community Needs Fund when their finances improve as a way to “Pay it forward” so that the Community Needs Fund might have funds available to help the next people in need.

Currently the needs in the community are outpacing the money available in our Community Needs fund. Donations from the community to support this ministry to the community are gratefully accepted.

People wishing to donate towards the Community Needs Fund may send checks to the Alden UMC Community Needs Fund, PO Box 130, Alden, MI 49612.
